Hanane Idihia is a Phd-student in socio-anthropology at Paris-Saclay University.

Her thesis focuses on cities in urban decline and more specifically on former coal cities, in France and in Morocco.

She works as a visual sociologist in this area but also for a european research program on migration located in Calais (France) with the university of Geneva (Italy). She also works as a guest professor at the NIMAR (the Netherlands Instituut Marokko). Her lecture subjects concern visual ethnography and migrations.

She has published articles in international scientific reviews and has been invited to participate in several international events in Europe and in the middle east and north Africa, as an expert in visual methods in human sciences, urban sociology and migration.
