Author and director

He is an author and director, born in Algeria in 1973. He has been living in Italy since 1994. He has attended courses on cinema and TV and, after a long and satisfying experience in advertising (post production and graphics), since 2006 he has started making documentaries and reportages for the Italian and foreign TV market. His productions, often related to social issues associated to the phenomenon of immigration in Italy, were broadcast by Rai (Rai3, Rai News, Rai Educational), La7, Babel Tv, Al Jazeera, Echourok Tv. Among these: “The harraga of Annaba”, which tells the new route of the desperate from Algeria to Sardinia; “The nation of kings”, the first documentary report in Italy that describes and tells – from within – the South American baby-gang of the “Latin King” in Milan; “Nomadic prayer,” on the right to have a place of worship for Islamic communities in Italy; “The Court of America”, a century of immigration and emigration history told by the tenants of a historic Milanese court house; “The trap”, on the “odyssey” of political refugees hosted in Milan.
Some of these works have been awarded in national and international festivals: he was awarded with the Ilaria Alpi 2007 critics’ prize, for the documentary film “State of Fear. clash of civilizations ” produced by H24 Agency TV; he gained the Feltrinelli-Arci Award “Racism is a bad story “at the 20th African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival 2010 and the Silver Hawk at the 10th Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam 2010 (Holland)” for the Docufilm ” The Trap; he gained a special mention of the ACRA award in the Extra section of the 22nd African and Asian American Film Festival, Milan (Italy) 2012 for the “The Court of America” ​​Docufilm; IA-Doc award of the nineteenth edition of the Ilaria Alpi prize 2013 awarded him as producer of the Docufilm “Il Rifugio”.
