Maddalena Bartolini

Sociologist

Maddalena Bartolini is a PhD doctor in Sociology (SPS/07) and a PhD doctor in Evaluation of Educational Processes and Systems (DISFOR – University of Genoa). She studies the processes of school segregation/desegregation and the phenomenon of Early Leaving from Education and Training (ELET). She is also involved as an independent researcher on the topic of urban and social transformation and changes in the post-industrial suburbs and youth identities. She works with the Public sector and Third sector organizations for Action- Research projects with adolescents and children. She collaborates and researches with Centro Studi Medi since 2010 (https://www.csmedi.com/).

She’s one of the authors of the visual sociology documentary “dramma, scempio e fama” (directed by Alessandro Diaco, 2012) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAviaWpJSeE&feature=emb_title

She coordinates the association “La Stanza” that carries out cultural projects and training courses of narrative and intercultural pedagogy in the City of Genoa schools and districts. (https://www.facebook.com/AssociazioneLaStanza/)

As an amateur photographer she has participated in some exhibitions and, with the photographer Alberto Terrile wrote the texts of the ethnographic project “Ma che grandi occhi che hai” on the life of the Princese in the Ghetto of Genoa”.
